“Camera shy?” you ask, YES.
But I’m not talking about being infront of the lens, but rather being behind it.
This one is for all those who buy a DSLR for the image quality, but are too afraid to take it out of auto. It’s not like a car people, you can’t stall it or crash! I mean I know that it’s a little scary with all the available settings and buttons but I promise you it isn’t as scary as you think. In fact these awesome machines are built to help you take baby steps in the learning process.
You’ll find these settings on the selector wheel for most cameras. There are, as discussed, many options depending on the make and model of your camera, however I want specifically point out the Av and Tv functions. However, before we can discuss those settings and their lustre, a simple explanation of ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, the 3 main components of photography, are needed.
